These items have been created from the Canard fins from the forward section of a Aim-9 Sidewinder Missile.
Constructed from an extremely tough ferrous alloy, we have made these into perfectly sized keyring tags.
Designed and etched in house, is our silhouette of an Aim-9 missile with accompanying text.
The Surfaces and edges have been polished to a high standard.
3mm hole allows attachment of the supplied stainless steel lanyard.
Background
The AIM-9 Sidewinder missile is a highly manoeuvrable, short-range air-to-air missile with a range of up to 25 miles and maximum speed in excess of Mach 2.5+. It features a Lock-On After Launch (LOAL) capability, allowing it to be launched without prior target acquisition. The missile's rocket motor provides high speed and acceleration, and its infrared guidance system allows it to home in on targets. The AIM-9 Sidewinder is the most widely used air-to-air missile in the world, and is used by both the US and allied military forces. It is a highly effective weapon, proven in combat, and has been credited with downing numerous enemy aircraft.
Each tag comes complete on a backing card and protected in a plastic sleeve.
